PEERS Online Social Skills Support
Evidence-Based Social Skills Delivered Remotely
Behavior Portal offers PEERS-based social skills support provided by a PEERS Certified Provider, delivered online via Zoom. Services follow the official, research-supported PEERS curriculum developed at UCLA and are adapted to fit real families, real schedules, and real-world social challenges.
What Is PEERS?
PEERS (Program for the Education and Enrichment of Relational Skills) is an evidence-based social skills intervention that teaches concrete, practical skills for making and keeping friends. Skills are clearly taught, practiced, and reinforced helping children and teens navigate social situations with more confidence and success.
-
PEERS services may be a good fit for children and adolescents who:
Want friends but struggle with how to connect
Have difficulty with conversation or group participation
Experience social anxiety or repeated peer challenges
Benefit from clear, structured social guidance
Services support both neurodivergent and neurotypical children and teens.
-
Behavior Portal’s PEERS services are:
Child-centered and respectful of neurodiversity
Focused on skill-building, not compliance
Practical, collaborative, and realistic
Designed to generalize beyond sessions into daily life
-
PEERS services are delivered in a flexible, family-centered format, which may include:
Individual or parent-guided sessions
Parent coaching and education
Skill instruction, modeling, and practice
Strategies to support carryover at home and school
All services are delivered remotely via Zoom, allowing families nationwide to participate.
-
Parent involvement is a core part of PEERS. Caregivers are supported in helping children practice and apply skills in everyday situations, increasing long-term success and independence.
Our Process
Assess Social Readiness
We begin with a consultation to understand your child’s social goals, current challenges, and readiness for PEERS-based skill building.
Teach Evidence-Based Skills
Skills are taught using the official PEERS framework, with clear rules, examples, modeling, and guided discussion.
Practice & Generalize
Children practice skills through role-play and real-world application, while parents are coached on how to support carryover at home and school.
Support Long-Term Growth
Ongoing coaching and feedback help families reinforce skills over time so progress extends beyond sessions into daily life.
